The Ministry of Public Health has issued a draft announcement regarding licensing requirements for the production, import, or sale of certain herbal products. The draft specifies exemptions for the production of herbal compresses, herbal products for foot soaking, and herbal products for steaming, which are intended for external use to relieve body aches. These products, which must be used with heat before application, will no longer require a license under the Herbal Products Act of 2019. This change, aimed at supporting community enterprises and small-scale farmers, is based on recommendations from the Herbal Product Committee and the authority granted under Section 5 and Section 6 of the Herbal Products Act. Public comments are open from 08-Apr-2025 to 22-Apr-2025.
