Key requirements include:
Plastic bottles: 15% reuse by 2030.
Glass bottles: 30% reuse by 2030, increasing to 85% by 2040.
Recyclability: All packaging must be recyclable by 2030.
Plastic recycling rates: Rising from 36% to 63% by 2040.
Bio-based plastics: New guidelines for sustainability and integration into recycling systems.
This regulation aims to reduce packaging waste and improve sustainability across the EU.
